Military Driving Simulator

Partnering with eight360, Carbon developed a VR military driving simulator for their nVRt system, a free moving motion simulation platform.

The experience enabled trainees to drive various vehicles, each with unique characteristics, through a predefined course. The combination of vehicles and terrains allowed them to become accustomed to how vehicles with differing centres of mass cope with manoeuvrability and steep inclines.

The game accurately translated the position and orientation of the virtual vehicle to the real world by interfacing to the nVRt system, which would give the sense of acceleration and gravity. Drivers could then experience full three-axis rotational movement as well as lateral and vertical thrust.
